The State of Illinois gets a comprehensive online resource for fighting poverty.
Here’s how Mightybytes helped an Illinois coalition of change makers create a comprehensive online resource for fighting poverty.
Illinois Asset Building Group (IABG), a division of Heartland Alliance, is a statewide coalition invested in building the stability and strength of Illinois communities through increased asset ownership and asset protection. The IABG team came to Mightybytes seeking help building a digital strategy and a successful web presence.
We kicked off this project with a one-day strategy session on content strategy, social media, and digital marketing. In a second workshop, we executed our standard discovery process of defining user roles, needs, and brand objectives.
Mightybytes redesigned IABG’s visual branding, bringing new depth to the logo, creating a new color palette, and conceptualizing a richer, more welcoming experience for website visitors. The IABG website was designed using wireframes and iterations were annotated for version control and to note specific functionality. We also designed branded email templates that integrated with IABG’s email marketing software for consistency across multiple marketing channels.
The new site gives the organization a robust content management system that makes content updates a breeze. A comprehensive resources section addresses needs not met by the previous website. The site also features a blog, an easily updated display of partner organizations, and a “Take Action” section that prompt users to get involved with IABG via campaigns, letter writing, and other advocacy options.
The IAGB website is now designed to scale up as IABG grows its resources for managing and publishing content. The blog and “Take Action” sections provide IAGB staff and volunteers with a simple platform for publishing organizational updates. The new website design is more inviting to visitors and focuses traffic to the most important calls to action: taking action on poverty-related issues and signing up for updates and alerts.
